When individuals cannot predict the future, it is wise to remain prepared for the worst. Accidents are tough to deal with. The expenses that come by subsequent to a misfortune only make matters worse. A personal accident insurance plan is required mainly for the purpose of making sure that the insurance holder has the ability to deal with all the economic problems that crop up after an accident. There are different kinds of problems that can occur after an accident. People can be injured, they can succumb to their injuries after being hospitalized, or they can pass away on the spot. Regardless of the outcome of the accident, one needs to stay ready for everything.
Having an accident insurance plan is not enough, people should be sure that they know and understand the insurance policy. It is for this purpose that the HDFC Ergo Health (formerly Apollo Munich) Individual Personal Accident Insurance Plan has simple policy wordings. The plan is designed to offer customers the opportunity of getting high quality coverage for all sorts of problems that might be faced after an accident. The policy wordings clearly give the benefits in simple language that can easily be understood by those interested in purchasing the policy.
The Personal accident policy is intended to give coverage under 2 variants.
While majority of the benefits are the same for both the variants, there are certain differences too. The cover amount and some benefits vary. The Premium Variant offers coverage for broken bones, purchase of blood, transportation of imported medicines, and modification of residence/vehicle, while the Standard Variant does not. The policy also provides coverage for inpatient accident hospitalization expenses.
The plan can be availed by one and all in the age group of 5-69 years and since the plan provides yearly coverage, the policy would cease at 70 years of age. Individual Personal Accident Insurance can be issued to either a family or an individual. One must, however, keep in mind that the cover amount can only be used on an individual basis. HDFC Ergo Health (formerly Apollo Munich) offers customers a discount if the policy is opted for by two or more family members.
The benefits provided by the policy include lump sum amounts disbursed to the policy holder or beneficiary in case of Accidental Death, Permanent Total Disability, and Permanent Partial Disability. Policy holders can also get educational funds for dependent children in the event of accidental death or permanent total disability. The personal accident insurance policy covers many problems. These would include the costs of emergency ambulance cover, transportation of medicines, accident medical costs, purchase of blood, etc.
The Individual Personal Accident Insurance Policy allows a person to take a cover amount of up to 10 times the annual income of the proposer.  HDFC Ergo Health (formerly Apollo Munich) also provides cumulative bonuses and ‘Healthline’ facilities with the plan. HDFC Ergo Health (formerly Apollo Munich) makes sure that the claim process of the policy is simple and speedy. With an accident insurance plan, one can be sure that all sudden problems can be easily dealt with.
